Valentine’s Day saw the opening of one of the greatest fashion shows in the world; the London Fashion Week. It is one of the “Big Four” fashion weeks, along with New York Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week. It is a clothing trade show. The Sway Bar at Great Queen Street was one of the destinations for buyers and press.
At the beginning of the party a girl sang two Christina Aguilera songs. Her voice was strong and angelic creating a pleasant atmosphere.
The top trend at the show was ethnic chic. Juanita was the first designer to present her collection. As soon as the first dress came out in the catwalk a discotheque music started and accompanied the model who walked with attitude. Other models came out. London gives really good catwalks. Transparent blouses, bright colors and hats made up of big diamonds. Pink visor to make the boys wink.
Leather and snakeskin textures. Leaves drawn on jackets. Original and cutting-edge.
Following Juanita there were other two designers; I Candy and Whitney. I Candy opted for bright colors. Tight outfits with pink and white stripes. Use of black to create elegance. Whitney chose to dress a more provocant woman. Dresses with naked back, open skirt for a dark Alice in Wonderland look. Black tansparent dresses with stripes forming a cross on the nude back. Bright tourquois and sky blue jackets. Next Spring/Summer, wearing a see-through will be totally on trend.
“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” Coco Chanel.
